Guidance in development

Future MAA guidance should be transparent, expert-reviewed, and clearly separated from commercial promotion.

Proposed guidance pathway

As MAA matures, guidance documents can become one of the Alliance's most useful outputs. These should be developed with scientific advisory input, transparent disclosures, and a clear statement of scope.

1Define the clinical question

For example: interpreting food components, managing cross-reactivity, or using molecular profiles in immunotherapy discussions.

2Review existing literature and guidance

Summarise relevant published guidance, consensus documents, and high-quality reviews.

3Draft an interpretation framework

Focus on practical reasoning steps, limitations, and situations where specialist review is needed.

4Disclose and review

Publish contributors, conflicts, sponsorship, review process, version history, and update plans.
